By CHRIS
-
When you are getting ready, you should always put on the wetsuit last, because of overheating conditions outside. As well on the way back, you should take it of first.
-
Your hydration is really important so we highly recommended to drink some water before and after the dive.
-
At the deepest, it is really cold, so don’t forget your hood and gloves.

Types of learning and Diving
By Keila
Learning styles is a theory that suggests people learn better using different methods of learning. We perceive information using our senses. The three most practical senses in learning environments are sight, hearing and touch. The VAK model categorizes these sensory methods of learning as Visual (V), Auditory (A) and Kinesthetic (K) learning styles.
While most people have a dominant learning style, nobody has just one learning style. Everyone uses each of the learning styles to some degree. Some are stronger in one style while others have even strength in all styles. The reality is that we all have a custom “learning style” that is, in varying degrees, a combination of Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic learning.
It is useful to know the strength of your learning styles as they relate to each other. This allows you to focus on maximizing your learning potential. Recognizing your strengths also helps you to seek learning opportunities that cater to your combination of learning style strengths. But it also will help you on your teaching skills, trying to apply this knowledge with your students. As you know, students are dealing with different emotions during the process of diving classes.

5 Benefits to BECOME a SCUBA INSTRUCTOR
Further development
For all of the professional levels of diving, from Divemaster and up, one of the main benefits is that it takes your diving to a whole new level.
Water comfort, water skills, and situational awareness are all increased many times over by the training and drills you go through to reach the professional levels.
And this is particularly true for the Instructor level, where you’ll find yourself challenged on a whole new level.
Personal development
Finding yourself in charge of the safety and learning of prospective scuba divers, all of whom are new to the underwater world, and a few of them perhaps somewhat nervous about it, is a great chance to step up and take responsibility.
It's on you to make sure they’re safe, that they learn the skills needed to make them good divers, and that they have fun doing so. And that definitely helps you grow as a person and as a diver.
Better dive skills
There’s an old saying that if you really want to master something, you have to teach it.
When you find yourself in a situation where you have to demonstrate or explain a skill to someone who is completely new to it, you will yourself have a greater understanding of how to master it.
Learning how to teach
Unless you’re a professor or school teacher, you’re unlikely to have received formal training in how to best teach. And yet many of us find ourselves in situations, private or at work, where we need to convey information to another person in the best way possible.
The principles that dive courses and dive teaching are based on are very sound and applicable teaching principles, and this is one of the few situations where you get to learn them.
Turn a hobby to a profession
Your increased diving experience, and your ability to work in the industry, opens up a wide range or doors. You can work at any place in the world.
Many dive instructors teach in their spare time, using it as a way to dive for free or make a bit of money doing what they love.
Where should you take your PADI IDC?
This is a very big question and there is no correct answer but you can narrow down your selection by considering the following
· What do you want to do once you complete your courses and exams
· Where you want to work once you are a Scuba Instructor (OWSI)
· Where the Instructors that took you for your Divemaster or Assistant Instructor course do their IDCs
· The experience of the Course Director*
· Location and water temperature and conditions
· Resort popularity (you may want to be on almost deserted island but not everyone wants that)
· Other Instructor training availability (Master Scuba Diver Trainer – MSDT prep program and Instructor specialties)
· IDC accommodation and facilities (do you need wifi access, do you have your own room?)
· What is the potential for work after you pass
· Does the Course Director offer an IDC Preparation program
· Could I do my Staff Instructor course with the Course Director in the future
· What do previous IDC students say about the IDC course and the Course Director and staff.
· How easy it is get a work permit in the country of the IDC
· How much will it cost to get a work permit and how often do you need to renew it.
· How politically stable is the country?
· If I don’t reach the required standard on the IDC can I do the next one.
· If I fail my IE can I stay in resort and sit the next one.
· Are their recompression chambers nearby
· What are the medical facilities like in resort.
· What protection to wear (rash vests, wetsuits or drysuits)
· How does the Course Director answer your IDC Questions.
· Freshwater or Saltwater.
